Yes, yes we are

Alberto's post below "Are we forgetting something" brings up a very important point. Namely, the Cornell TASP reunion.

I propose the following preliminary plan:
-The real planning should commence post-January 1, once everyone is done submitting college applications.

-Someone (or 2-3 someones) should take it upon themsel(f)(ves) to be the reunion coordinator(s), polling everyone via e-mail about locations, dates, etc.

-Said reunion coordinator(s) must compile (probably just from the contact information sheets) a list of everyone's emails, and then send out regular updates, surveys, and polls

-We'll have to grant the reunion coordinator(s) some decison-making power, although he/she/they will have to do their best to reflect the opinions of the majority of the group.

-We must acknowledge, painful though it may be, that not everyone will be able to attend a reunion. Therefore, all plans must aim for maximum turn out.

-Finally, and most importantly, we must remain committed to our reunion dream. Hasta victoria siempre, Cornell TASPs.

Also, Gary, is there some way we can create a link or something that will make all reunion-related posts immediately accesible?

Levent told me today that if we do it before August, he can't go 'cause since he's coming here for university, he can't travel TWICE to the US...Too much money. SOOOO, I dunno... Keep that in mind? 'Tevs. Max. turnout is the idea, so blah. I can do it whenever, so far. We'll see...

"I would simply offer that" we may consider the unhappy possibility of not doing it this summer. Possibly trying to force a BIRT through CBTA, with Martin's support (and any other Cornell TASPers who may come off the waitlist) whereas we could hold the reunion at the House during the year. Christmas ("Holiday") break, anyone?

Secondly:

Whereas I commend Sarah's leadership on this issue.

Whereas due to her interest and leadership she has shown the dedication and ability to pull off a successful reunion.

Whereas Sarah is just as qualified if not more so to make executive decisions in this area.

And whereas Justice is her middle name.

Be It Resolved That Sarah Justice Howland be appointment Chair of the Reunion Committee.

Be It Further Resolved That a committee of 3 be formed, which the Chair holding 2 votes, other members each holding 1 and a plurality consensus of TASPers carrying another single vote.

Be It Finally Resolved That said committee should be definitely formed by December 1st and serious work should then begin January 1st.

I support Anthony's BIRT, and for me, it would also be easier to hold it close to September, because I don't know what plans my family may have for the summer, and the closer it is to the start of college, the better, so we can all economize. lol.
